The Perricone Perscription for Weight Loss

Posted at January 23, 2010 by admin

The green tea diet has captured the hopes of dieters worldwide. Dr. Perricone and Oprah inadvertently unleashed another fad diet waiting to happen. The internet has seen a meteoric rise in green tea weight loss products, similar in intensiveness to the acai berry diet sensation. Fad diets should be considered with circumspection, especially when expensive products featuring quick results are being tendered. Fad diets can be hazardous to the dieter not only because of their high cost and impossible promises, but also by being harsh on the body. Rapid weight loss plans and crash diets are in most cases unsustainable (the weight loss will eventually come back) and can put the body into one of many nutritional imbalances that can do the dieter far more harm than good. As with so many sky-rockets to fame, the Perricone Prescription — more widely known as the green tea diet — came to the world’s attention on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah’s guest was the very respected doctor and medical researcher Dr. Nicholas Perricone, writer of several books, including the Perricone Prescription that detailed the medical research behind the amazing fat burning properties of green tea and green tea extract.
